I’ve been thinking about swapping my trocen 708s controller and would like to add a the ability to put a diode laser on my CO2 at the same time.
Has anyone successfully run a diode laser with a ruida controller?
Yes, I ran a NEJE on mine for
s and giggles.
You need to put the machine in metal tube (rf) mode so there is only a single control line to the laser module.
I had to really slow down the machine, as the head had ~10 times or more the mass of my co2 head.
Generally, you can’t run both a diode and a glass tube at the same time. A diode (and RF) uses the pwm to tell it when to turn on/off. A glass tube is analog and uses the pwm to set the current and L or laser enable to cause it to lase.
On my Ruida, configured with a glass tube, the pwm is generated during the entire layer execution.
Unless you can figure out some kind of logic… which is really pretty simple. I did it originally, then snapped that I could just run RF mode..

Thanks for the input, should give me a good idea where to start
Do you know which model you used and how you wired it?
Thanks
I have a 6442g model, but it should work with anything.
If you want to keep both mounted and available, they don’t seem to support this.
Mine was put in to see if it’d work with the Ruida, it did, but in RF mode.
