I have a Longer Ray 5 laser & just purchased a Creality Rotary (Chuck). The information states that it is compatibility with my machine
My problem: I’ve attached made the changes that have been suggested but it still is not rotating. The laser passes over but with no other movement. Any suggestions
Where did you plug in the rotary? Which axis are you using?
If I am viewing that image properly, it looks like that plug is from the rotary. At best, I see only 3 wires going into that plug. The stepper motor requires 4 wires at least. I would expect a matching plug to hook the rotary up. You might want to revisit the connection instructions for your machine and rotary.
If you upload a copy of those instructions, someone can review them and possibly help.
Thank you Yes it does have 4 wires
Ok. You did not comment on the connectors. Do you have a connector on each end or is it 4 wires plugged into the rotary connector?
If you switch back to the Yaxis motor, does it work like it did before?
Sorry I have had my laser for about a month & am learning as I go. This the cable that was sent. I connected the y axis cable & the rotary chuck module w/the connecting cable This is what is suggested in info
You did not answer either of my questions. I cannot see what you see so you have to be my eyes and ears.
Sorry as I mentioned new to this process and haven’t learned all parts.
Sent a couple pics hopefully this is what you meant
The first one is what I was looking for. Strange it is 1 red and 3 black. Red usually denotes steady power, not signal.
Can the plug be reversed (rotated 180 °) and plugged in?
No. It only goes in one way
Ok, then plug the white plug back in for the Yaxis and see it that still works.
If the Yaxis still works properly, I would think the Rotary is bad.
If it now does not work, that would indicate bad wiring or controller board, where a motor driver module went bad. Coincidence or rotary caused it? No way to know for sure at this point.
Let us know what you find.
Well it seems it is not compatible, so they will be working the problem
Thanks for all the help
