Trouble with ceramic tile consistency

I’m trying to etch white ceramic tiles and I’ve had some success, but then the burns started coming out very light. I ran a calibration matrix on one that worked fine, but now it comes out very light. (see picture) I’ve tried different things, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any experience with this? (P.S.- the laser is working fine when engraving wood.) I’m cleaning the tiles with acetone, then painting with flat white paint, lasing, then cleaning the paint off with acetone

Oh, I’m using the Ortur LM2 laser.

Ceramic tile texture is related to its style. So feel free to feel! " The feel of a tumbled stone or slate looking ceramic tile will be irregular and somewhat rough. A tile simulating marble or granite on the other hand, will have a very smooth, polished feel.

Make sure the paint you are using has Titanium Dioxide in it,

I’ve had problems in the past with uneven paint distribution. But I’m a bit color blind and the white on white would be quite difficult for me to get good coverage without too much paint.
