Trying to cut small circles - not completely cutting

I was walking out of work and noticed all the welders wearing their leather aprons…got me thinking…leather isn’t very flammable. (Self extinguishing, I believe)

Given that, have either of you guys tried enabling constant power in conjunction with overcut? The physics of running a small circle in dynamic power mode may be keeping the speed low enough to force the laser well below expected power output…which may not be enough to keep the leather burning…

Yes, the theory is that power is reduced proportional to speed so energy on target remains relatively constant, but…maybe leather needs a bit more “kick”.

Just a thought.

I have a Ruida controller and I have found “dot mode” really useful for cutting tricky materials…rather than just blasting through the material it neatly pecks away and if you get the dot spacing just right, out falls the waste  (or at least you can just push or pry it out with minimal effort)
