Trying to setup a trustworthy center and/or grid

I’m attempting to setup a grid for repeatable engraving and have a question. I drew 2 lines and intersected them on 8" in LightBurn. I saved that position and marked it in pencil on the board.
I can repeatedly go back to that position. Step one done!
I drew a 1" circle and centered it over these lines that intersect 8".

If I do a frame with the laser on, it moves up 1" and frames the circle with my dot on the bottom of the circle. I feel I have something setup wrong or I don’t understand something. I just want to put a circle on my screen and know exactly where it is going to draw on the board.
