Twotrees TS2-20W weird sounds when moving

Hello,
I have been using the Twotrees TS2 20W laser engraver for over a year, and I have been satisfied with it. However, today it started acting up and isn’t working as it used to. When I move it on the Y-axis, everything works as it should. But when moving along the X-axis, it makes strange noises. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Should I buy some replacement parts?

Can you tell us more about those strange noises?
Is a grinding kind of noise? Is a belt slipping kind of noise?

Hi, i would say that it could be grinding (its noticable in video i sent at time 1:36). I thought that maybe it could be some problem with bearings? Its only happening when laser head is going right or left. Also, I apologize in advance, English is not my native language.

Try to loose the belt, slide the laser module and check if the noise maintains. if so probably you need new bearings.

Same here, don’t you worry about that! :grinning:
We find a way to make us understand each other.

I tried to loose the belt, but sadly the sound is still there. Do you know where i could buy new bearings?

Here where I live is not hard to find those bearings. But you can always find them on ebay, aliexpress etc…

I assume you realy loose the belt, slide the laser module from one side to other and the noise remains. If this is correct I advice you to check those grooves in the rails where the bearings slides aren’t worn or dirty. If it’s ok then disassemble those bearings off, pick one at a time and do this:
Grab the center of bearing with two fingers, and move the outside part of the bearing against other hand. You should feel like dust inside of roller bearings and it means the bearing is worn. If the bearings slide very smoothly probably the bearings are good and you have those grooves in the rails where the bearings slides worn or dirty.
