Unable to connect Monport to Lightburn

I currently have two lasers on this computer, a 30w fibre laser which works well, and a K40w co2:
I am using a Monport v2, with lightburn 1.5.06. This is installed as a replacement controller in my K40W laser. The strange thing is that this was working sometime prior to the upgrade to LB 1.5.06, only that it stopped working in the prior LB ver which led me to the software upgrade, and now it it still doesn’t work. I connect via USB and I can hear and see the connection in WIn10PRO device manager. I can adjust the com port number as well. its set to 9600,8,N,1…Windows says the device is working properly. However when I run Lightburn, and view the LB console, it only says ‘waiting for connection…’ LIke I said this was all working before. I have since tried uninstalling the laser K40 GRBL , and tried rescanning for the hardware to no avail. Lightburn thinks the port is used? Maybe? also tried restarting, and different sequencing of loading first, unplugging and replugging the USB… each time I can hear connection/disconnection sounds. I tried adding the device manually using the GRBL option from create new and the port still would not open. I have also tried reloading from load prefs backup selecting different past backups to no avail. The last thing I have tried is updating the CH340 driver to ver 3.8.2023 and still having the same issue. As it is I am unable to use the K40 with the monport v2. Any help on this ?

It sounds like the OS is seeing the device. I sometimes have set my port to choose and right click on the device button… this will cause it to reconnect.

Usually when it disconnects, it will leave that port active, but it thinks it’s busy and the OS creates another usb connection…

Try the set to choose and right click the device button.
