I have a Kentoktool LE400Pro, and it generally works pretty well with LightBurn.
However, I’ve noticed the “Home” and “Go to Origin” buttons don’t seem to work.
Clicking “Home” make the head increment a step along the x and y axis, and the console reports the error:
" ALARM:8 Homing fail. Cycle failed to clear limit switch when pulling off. Try increasing pull-off setting or check wiring."
Clicking the “Go to Origin” make the head decrement a single step for the first click, but then nothing for subsequent clicks. No error is reported in the console.
The wiring of both limit switches seem good, and if I activate the switches manually, the console registers a press.
I tried manually moving the head all the way to the home position, but when I tried to fame it frame, and LightBurn tried to make it run through the limit switch and it started grinding up the belt, so I quickly turned it off.
Why isn’t LightBurn reacting to the limit switch presses or homing correctly?
How do I load an .nc file into LightBurn? The import dialogs under Edit->Device Settings, and Edit->Machine Settings don’t list .nc as an accepted file format.
Devs should probably fix that bug. Especially since this is paid proprietary software. This wasted an hour of my time digging through the manual and online posts, and a lot of people seem to ask this exact same question. No reason why homing should randomly stop working. Just move the motors until the limit switches are detected then stop.
