This is long but I want to give all the details hoping someone can help.
Half way through a tumbler being engraved it just appeared to lose power significantly. I assumed I had bumped something and realigned with the same issue. I restarted everything and tried a different logo but this time I got a uniform engraving albeit with still lower power (it wouldn’t engrave through stainless). So I checked mirrors (my first time) and found them seriously unaligned. I got them aligned (not centered except for down the nozzle). I could engrave tumblers again far easier so I assumed that fixed it. I am trying to engrave a police badge that has small letters in the middle. The small letters have been engraved before with zero issues. I have tried a different variation of the badge before I had it converted by someone and still having this issue. I have been able to engrave the small text when I send the job as itself, not the full badge. I will post pictures of this and my tube which appears to be fine. I’ve used the rotary to engrave probably 100 tumblers now so I’m confident it’s not the rotary. Laser is level, the bed isn’t, but the tumbler is when I engrave it. The gantry rails overtop of the bed don’t appear to be level (not too far off but still within the lines on my level). However nothing has changed. So I don’t know why this is an issue now. My settings before I aligned mirrors were 150/30/0.04 and now I can get by on 25% power. Mirrors and lens cleaned, ramp test down to confirm 3/4 inch like acrylic piece given, lens is convex up. Only thing I can think of trying is rolling back light burn or somehow figuring out how to align every mirror dead center which is a whole other issue since my tube isn’t level either. Again this all worked fine then just randomly didn’t.
Green tumbler is the design before mirrors messed up, blue is after, and black is the part of the badge by itself. (Ignore the bad circle, it slipped on rotary which has been fixed).
