I did the update over the weekend and now I cannot send files to either of my lasers. I have 2 - both Ruida. This is the error I get. Worked fine in the morning. Did the update and immediately after can’t send files. The only difference I see is that it now says Ruida 1390 in the file name which it did not before
Is the laser window showing read when you send the file?
Are you using Ethernet or USB?
No nothing shows up on the laser
I am using USB - the same cable I have been using on both lasers for 2 years
The only thing I’ve heard about is the Mac changing thing. That would be the first place to check and ensure the usb is seeing the laser.
As far as I know, the usb on these are pretty stable…
Check your Mac and see if the device is actually visible to it.
Sorry I don’t know how to do that with a Mac stock software… I loaded lsusb as I use it all the time on my Ubuntu Linux.
I am actually using Windows does that make a difference
Hi Jennifer,
This error is usually caused by a USB connection issue. Do you have multiple LightBurn windows open, or any other software, like RDWorks, open? Some software can take control of the communication port used for LightBurn to talk to your laser, and those need to be closed in order for LightBurn to function.
The easiest way to know would be to restart your PC, then see if the issue persists immediately after a restart > Open LightBurn.
You may need to manually select a COM port here, next to the Devices button.
Hi Colin
I restarted and still the same thing. I don’t have any other output programs open or anything else connected to my laptop. Where do I find that communication area in Lightburn?
Thanks
This is in the laser window, where you start/stop a job, next to what device is selected. Mine says (Auto)
Thanks for providing the clarification, Jack.
We are having the same issue. I have an iMac and Omtech 130w and it says laser is busy or paused. It will not even find my laser. We have tried so many things and nothing helps. Cannot send a file but the machine will run programs that are in its memory.
Plug them in to your Ethernet lan… these headaches will go away.
mine doesn’t say auto - anywhere
It won’t if you set it up for Ethernet… Mine was on my fiber machine when that was shot.
If you run it through your lan, you’ll see an Ethernet mode to pick from in the device setup…
