Upgrade to 60W rube and power supply

I have upgraded my 50w chinese laser to a 60w tube and power supply. How do I tell the controller oand lightburn the new settings.
I have tried to cut 6mm mdf with it but it does not cut it using 95% power and 30mm/s.
Any ideas on these please?
Thanks

You wouldn’t need to “tell” the either the controller or LightBurn as all power is set as a percentage of the peak power available via your tube and PSU combo.
Running at 95% is rather high by the way. I’d personally not exceed 70% available power.

Are you sure your machine is well aligned after the change over? 30mm/s is fairly fast for 6mm MDF on a “60W” tube. How long is this tube by the way?

I don’t get 30mm/s out of my 100W peak tube.

Recap: Check alignment

hi, thanks, I re aligned the irrors and it looks good, will recheck however to be sure. I tried 70% and 0.5mm/s and after 5 passes it only cuts in to the material by about 1.5mm, the amps is about 26.
something just does not seem right!! Thanks

Make sure your M3 is aligned. Some times that mirror is forgotten. Also did you align mirrors with the head at extremes away from previous setting?

Hi, I aligned mirrors in the near and far positions but I will do it again this weekend as something is not right, thanks

I made these short video that shows how to do an alignment test that’ll tell you a lot about how well aligned your machine is.

Changing a tube has a lot of potential for moving a bracket or getting things misaligned. A common mistake is trying to align everything to hit in the middle of a mirror, which is desirable but unless everything in your machine is absolutely level and aligned, it means very likely means your beam is missing the lens or clipping a mirror edge.

Alignment is hard, can be frustrating and is of course dangerous because of the risk to your eyes, be careful.
