Upgraded to the galvo, now co2 doesnt run

upgraded to the fiber laser with light burn, now co2 doesnt run. It will send the file to the machine and load it but when trying to run the file, it’s starts and shows completed immediately. I can run the pulse, I get a pulse, bulb is new. The only thing recent with change is getting a fiber laser and upgraded light burn to use both, now the co2 laser is does not run.

Any ideas?

Is Lightburn showing Ready in the Laser window and the proper device selected?

Did you create another device for the fiber?

Lightburn dsp/grbl/fiber are the same software, it just enables use of that particular machine.

It sounds like it’s not talking to the right machine… Can you move the gantry with the software?

:smile_cat:

Correct, I assume its not talking to the right machine, I select the device I want to use, the fiber works, but the co2 will send the file but wont start the job. its beeps 3 times as if it completed the job. Co2 machine has worked for years, until I just got this fiber.

Do you have a device profile for each machine?

:smile_cat:

Sure do, the co2 was the only profile for the longest, and I just added the fiber profile to get that to work a few days ago. When I switch in between the profiles I get the different size work areas, I also select which machine I want to use in the device and I select the machine I want on the bottom right drop down menu. I still get the same issue.

You only need to select the appropriate device, next to Device in the laser window.

What two items are you enabling?

:smile_cat:

The laser profile I want to use.

Looks good…

If you go to the first screen with the two devices, you can edit the co2 entry. Anything you do not change will not be affected, so you can just step through the setup while editing the entry and ensure it’s correct…

Does the co2 use USB? Any chance you can get it to Ethernet?

:smile_cat:

I managed to hook it up to ethernet, sent the file via ethernet with no usb connected, but when I started it, It did same thing. I press start, is says done. Beeps 3 times.

Ethernet is the best option… keep using it.

Can you advise us on your solution?

Ensure you are using send instead of start.

Then go to the controller and see if the file is there.

When you select it you should see the artwork on the machines screen…

Can you do this?

:smile_cat:

Correct, I send the file to the machine. The file loads up, I set origin, click start. It shows done, and beeps 3 times. It does this with USB and Ethernet.

I’d stick with Ethernet, then it would be more difficult to determine which machine it’s talking to… Ethernet is much more dependable and doesn’t need user installed drivers.

Are you seeing the artwork?

Can we see it on the controller photo and in the edit layer window (screenshot)…?

Ensure the speeds are in the units specified… I use mm/s

How many files are saved to the Ruida controller? If there are too many it starts to have problems.

My settings seem normal.

My first thought, but it’s the only file on the machine.

Can you see your graphic on the Ruida machine console?

:smile_cat:

Yes, I can see it, load it. I set origin on the machine, I hit the start button, it instantly goes to done, and beeps 3 times.

Do you mind posting the .lbrn2 project file so I can load it into my machine and give it a whirl?

:smile_cat:

Yea, not a problem

I found this post with the same error. Is it every file or just that one?
