Using LightBurn with Qube60 and Minilase Pro SE software? from TYKMA Electrox

Minilase is working and the driver is installed, but i can’t seem to get LB to connect. Anyone get have this setup and has LB working? Would love to purchase…but need to know it works first.

I looked at the site and they seem to indicate it a proprietary software system…

What kind of control board is in the machine… that will determine if Lightburn can interface with it…

Assume this is the animal?

Good luck

They may have changed some of the BMP files…but this is ezcad 2.14. Again, can’t prove it…but i’d bet on it.

Could be easycad with a plugin… I don’t know… It’s an American made product it seems.

If you go to the lightburnsoftware.com and check, there is no mention of it there…

As I stated, I think you will have to figure out what kind of control board it has…

Might be more simple just to email Minilaser and ask if Lightburn will run on it…

In reality, I would think they would advertise the fact that you have choices other than their software…

I would email them…

Sorry, if there was confusion. The laser is a qube60, Minilase Pro SE is the software.

A link is always nice as most of us like to at least look and see if we see anything that is telling…

Is this it?

I don’t think anything has changed… it only states it runs their software…

You should just email them and ask if Lightburn will work …

Can you confirm that you installed the LightBurn provided driver?

Galvo Installation - LightBurn Software Documentation

What? where was this?..I didn’t get a driver?

It is part of the installation process. It’s at the end of the process if I recall to add additional packages.

I suggest you review the link detail as they discuss both installation, removal, and alternative mechanism for the driver using Zadig.

I did select the ezcad2 driver during install if thats what you were reffering to. Maybe i should uninstall and reinstall while connected to the laser. I was not conected when i installed it at first.

Being connected or not shouldn’t be the deciding factor. If you cannot connect after carefully following the installation and setup procedure it’s likely the laser is incompatible.

Can you confirm if the device is visible in device manager using the LightBurn provided driver?

as soon as i plug the laser in via usb, it shows up as a TYKMA Laser…or something to that effect. where is the lightburn driver located after the install? The lightburn driver folder only has the exe file for the ezcad2 driver…but i don’t see the actual file.

just downloaded the zadig program. going to give that a shot tommorrow.

I’d caution that you be extremely careful with the Zadig program. If you “mess things up” it can leave you with a bit of a mess to cleanup and may not be that clear how to get things back.

As for the driver, can you open Device Manager and check the properties of the port identified for the laser? Properties should identify the driver being used.

Its still using the driver supplied by Tykma for the minilase software.

I have a Tykma or “LaserGear Qube” 20 watt from Tykma.
The scaling is off pretty bad, the files are about 30% larger than drawn for some reason.
the software is absolutely a version of EZcad2 that was custom made for them.
You can do a few interesting things, one, you can operate the laser with ezcad2 and it will recognize the existing drivers from the minilase software. Additionally you can change file extensions from .pse to .ezd and open either one in the other software.

No idea if lightburn’s galvo software will run it though but the probability is high with the right drivers installed.
