V 1.4.05 crosshatch fill error - infinite fill cycles

I’ve found some strange behaviour with the latest 1.4.05 version.

When cross hatch filling with 2 layers, the fill process continues endlessly.

I’ve uploaded an example of the behaviour.

Windows 10 / K40 / Mini Gerbil MG3

crosshatch error 1-4-05.lbrn2 (10.4 KB)

I can’t reproduce this on 1.5 beta.

How are you seeing this?

not seeing it on 1.4.05

cannot replicate either
Runs twice, as requested by pass count of 2

Thanks Mike and Gil,

I’ll restart the machine and try it again.

It is exhibiting that behaviour in no-cross-hatch mode as well. Anything with multiple passes in a fill.

I’ve temporarily got around it by creating two separate fill sub-layers for the 2 passes.

I rebooted and reinstalled 1.4.05

I can reliably repeat the behaviour.

Any object fill with 2 passes and cross hatch set on. Screenshots of the fill settings attached.

My test object is a circle.

The file I opened only had one layer. Is this a different test file?

Can you further describe the symptom? Are you getting more than 2 passes of crosshatch?

What does Preview show?

Everyone,

Thanks for the help.

The error is mine. I’m new to cross-hatching, and didn’t realise that it would automatically create a double scan. In ignorance, I set Passes to 2.

My initial test was on a quite a long engrave, so I stopped the process shortly into the third iteration (cycle 2).

I’ll close this topic now.
