V carve inlays with new v carve addition

Does the new v carve addition support automatic v carve inlays?

Just opiniating here, but would not the v-carve inlay insert have to be cut upside down because you can not undercut with a V tool? I cannot even imagine the math to make “automatic” work.

P.S. Graphic done entirely in Lightburn (MillMage has no “Fill”). :joy:

I didnt want to be that guy and bring up another software. But they do it. Mirror image and flip it over, then it supposedly automates from there. I havent used that software because its too damn expensive, but watching videos of it it seems easy as a user to do. Programming probably not so much.

Sounds like an experiment is needed! :joy:

So i take that this operation is a no. But will it a future possibility?

With that development team, anything is!

It’s pretty trivial to do it already:

The workflow in the video above functions exactly the same in MillMage. I do plan to add an actual operation for this that simplifies it a little bit, but it’s really just gloss on top of what’s in the video here.

Have a look at the operations in the attached file to see how it’s set up.

Perfect. Thanks. Great software by the way. Have only used basic so far but looking forward to the pro version
