Virtual - Power Compensation Layer

Does anyone know if any software or machine control supports something like

CO2 Laser - Power Compensation Layer?

In laser systems with a large working area, uneven power distribution occurs due to:

Optical losses – longer beam paths result in gradual intensity reduction.

I would like to create a map…
with engraving of approximately 130x70 cm about 52x28 inch
I know it can be divided into smaller sections, but it will still be of poor quality :frowning:

How would you measure anything that you could use to map too?

I would think if this was needed, the vendor would be able to source the information to you. I’ve never seen one, working correctly, that needed this and some are 4x8’

There is no automated way to do this that I know of … sorry…

Hang in there for other to speak up…

:smiley_cat:

When I first got into CO2 lasers, I thought this would be helpful.

Now I know it’s not necessary. I run a 1600x1000mm bed with a collimated RF-CO2 beam and a 1300x900 with a W6.

You should NOT have a performance change across the bed. If you do, then most likely your mirrors are misaligned and part of the beam is missing M3 on the bottom or right side of the machine. Fix your alignment
