Vmware fusion win 11 on Mac silicon

Hello,

Has anyone able to get lightburn to work (I mean connect to a laser) when running on wmware fusion on a mac silicon chip?

I know it works natively on mac, but that’s not the question here.
When I plug the device on USB C, vmware detects it, I select windows to connect the device, but it is not showing up on lighburn.
When i go to the win 11 device manager there is a warning sign next to USB serial port.

Anyone able to try that setup?

I expect VMware uses the MAC routines for the USB. There is a known issue with USB-C on the MAC. Maybe this link could be a solution…

USB-C on the MAC? If so and you are using a USB-C to USB-C to the laser, the MAC USB 3.0 might not downshift to USB 2.0 for the laser. The usual solution is to install a USB-A dirt cheap hub and a couple of USB-A to USB-C cables between them. This forces the MAC to downshift to USB 2.0 for the Laser. Let us know if this works.

This means that the driver could not be loaded correctly in Windows. Check the exact error message. As long as the driver is not loaded, you can’t use the device in LB. No application can.
