This certainly isn’t a piece of art, but. I got rid of my phone land line and removed all the phones in the house. I had a wall mounted phone wall jack in the kitchen and I wanted to do something with it. Just leave it alone, paint it, remove it and patch with drywall, cover with a picture or some kind of decoration .I decided to make a cover for it out of .25 Baltic Birch Plywood. This fits perfectly and will hold my iPhone or a small decoration on the shelf. Still need to paint it.
Cut out three of the pieces with the opening and 1 piece of the front cover with the screw holes. Glue them all together and attach the shelf and the lip to the bottom. Remove the two screws from the existing phone mounting and attach the cover with longer screws.
PS: My wife doesn’t like it
