Want to cut the area around the image

I want to make a Christmas ornament with the boat inside the circle. I have tried Union, Weld and Subtract. But none of those work for med. I am using LightBurn 1.3.0.1

I want the sections above and below the image to be cut out and I want the bow and the aft pieces to be part of the circle. The boat is to be engraved.

I’ve read through this several times to try to understand what the final output should like and I’m not getting there.

Are you looking to eliminate the shape highlighted here?

If not, can you possibly annotate or otherwise further describe what this should look like?

So the best way I’ve found is to copy the entire thing and highlight the yellow in a photo editor (I use Vetric, it makes it easy and I’m used to it) and cut everything else out of the picture so the only profile you have left is that outline (and the outline to the right and bottom similarly)… then use them as a separate cut tool path. I’m sure it’s doable in LightBurn too but I haven’t been using it long enough to have figured that out.

If the boat is an Image…

I’d use the trace tool to make an outline of the boat.
Then use the offset tool to make the trace a little bit larger than the boat.

Probably Union the boat outline into the ornament.
then put the boat image back in.

If you’d like to share the file I’ll take a shot at it.
