I went back to 1.7 I’ll keep reading and maybe try it later I’m new to Light burn and still unsure of what I’m doing. My machine seems to work better
Best to go to a known stable version, especially if your new to the software.

can someone tell me how to revert to a previous version (like 1.7xx)? This latest release has not been great for me. When bringing in image (.png, .jpg etc) - i vectorize it but the engrave is HORRIBLE.
Go to the download page, download the version you want and install it. No need to uninstall the current version first.

previous version. THANK YOU for the quick response. I’m excited about the updates that are talked about in V 2.xx - but there seems to be a few bugs that still need to be refined (my opinion) ….

I have made multiple posts that every version of 2.x.x on my Windows 11 Pro system crashes and will not run. Version 1.7.08 still runs with no issues. BTW, this is on my development machine with no Laser attached.
I was expecting a lot of bugs, LB is ditching Linux and goes for more exposure and more money. And less testing. This is the result.
so i did not even try the 2.0 version. I an not the debugger for LB. Payed for the software ad it should work as promised. And that is the Law in the Netherlands to.
LightBurn has never hidden the information that new versions may contain errors, this is one of the most important differences to many other programs. It is up to you to go from something that works for you to something new.
The claim that LightBurn does not spend enough time testing new features and versions of the program is not correct, on the contrary, all those who are a constructive part of the development and testers will be able to confirm this.
How many processes have the Netherlands just won over Microsoft…
Below the line, it is of course always a shame that there are errors and shortcomings in LightBurn, but your (my) laser production has never been in danger of not being able to be carried out due to errors in LightBurn, never.

Upgrading to a new version is VOLUNTARY. The old versions continue to work as they have always worked.
Throwing a fit about end of Linux does not help your argument. Most the issues I saw with Linux were from people not using the supported version of Linux. Again, a self inflicted problem.
I would ask that you work with us to solve the issues, don’t cross your arms and refuse to be part of the success. You only hurt yourself.

And The Netherlands won al the processes they started against Microsoft. And at the moment even Bil Gates Personel goes down he drain in a proces in Leeuwarden. He even tried to buy the Judge and some advocates… But in that respect i will pay a ticket for Bill to India. Sentenced to death in that country, because he is such a nice guy from Microsoft.
But Lightburn is not Microsoft, stupid to compare.
But explain version 2.0 comes out and in two weeks en bug update … you call that good testing, that is users do the testing, And THATS what Microsoft always does, and they still cannot bring a operating system without bugs after 40 years developing with thousands of developers during those years.
But again i like the version i’m at and wait again for another bug update.
I see LB going MS style, less is more, and i do not like it.

As imagens são da versão anterior, acabei por descarregar novamente para testar.

I hadn’t updated yet, but today, after updating, the overlay stopped updating. I can see the image in the preview, but it doesn’t move to the desktop. It appears to be capturing something, as shown in the attached images. The first one has no background, while the second one, and after pressing capture, some black dots appear. The images are from the previous version; I ended up downloading it again to test.

Um, yes we do. We have never and will never commit to fully bug-less software. I have explained, many times over the years, “this is software; things come up with every version. We release when we are confident in the release.”
We work very hard to address bugs, anomalies, or issues reported as soon as we learn of them. We assume folks want fixes to reported issues as soon as they are available.

Same experience with slow movements after upgrading to 2.0.0 and 2.0.2.
I am using a Comgrow Z1 10w using Grbl controller. Dell laptop running win 11.
Also, it doesn’t run smoothly when framing circular “rubber band” frame. Makes me suspect the steppers are not being driven correctly.
tech support couldn’t resolve issue. I also went back to 1.7
Similar issues on Xtool D1 pro. Erratic and incorrect movements, some cuts being in entirely the wrong place, framing did not reflect actual cut movements. Wasted material finding this out. Went back to 1.7, including removing all traces including prefs, and now its OK. So, obviously a serious problem with 2 and 2.0.2. I won’t “upgrade” to 2 again til I’m sure its fixed, including the horrible thick on screen lines. I did find the tool to resize the tools back to something plausible, though. The new UI is not nice…
