Way to set focal length?

Hi,
Just got a new laser tube from American Photonics called lenspro with the magnetic lens for my Gweike Cloud. Since the new focal length is 3mm shorter, how would i go about in Lightburn to change from the standard 50,8mm to 47,8mm ? Or am i just going to have to add 3mm to the material thickness field each time?

Thanks!

i mean subtract 3mm from thickness field, is there a workaround?

What’s the model of laser exactly?
Normally, you would do a “ramp test” to find the right focus distance.

Or if you have a motorized Z-Axis, a “Laser Tools > Focus Test” in LightBurn.

Yepp, ive got the Gweike cloud so it has motorized Z axis, will try the test but i still need to know how to alter the set parameters for this laser in Lightburn  i guess …

Dont know if im not understood correct but as Lightburn puts the z-axis according to what thickness i have set the material to, earlier the focus distance was 50.8mm original, now its 3mm shorter (higher up) 47.8mm. Just want to find were in lightburn i can offset this instead of having to subtract from materialthickness setting

Remember to follow right-hand rule.

Thanks, whats the right hand rule? The Z-offset seems what i need, but is there a way to alter the configuration already in lightburn for this Gweike Cloud laser?

It’s a convention rule to set axes orientation and positive values direction.
