Good morning
I try to import an illustrator file, that represents a map, with a multiple serie of layers some vector, some raster.
When I import directly the .ai file, I have all the vector layers, but only the first image, all the others are not there.
When I export from illustrator as an svg file, all the images are merged in one.
So I didn’t found any way to import as I want.
In fact the final result should be a vector layer for the cut, then an image to engrave this layer. The LB file will be used multiple time to cut the different layers (on different boards).
Of course al my illustrator layers are visible and not locked.
Is there a better way than to cut my illustrator file in multiple files, one for each with only one vector and only one image?
Thanks for your help
Olivier
Can you attach the AI file? If you don’t want it public, you can email it to support@lightburnsoftware.com and include a link to this thread so I can have a look.
Thanks for that. The file is more than 50Mo, is it ok for your mailbox?
It should be ok Qasar,
Alternatively, you could use wetransfer.com or google drive to upload if you like.
If the latter, be sure to share with full permissions or we wont be able to download it.
mail sent with one drive link to have access to the file (mailbox refused it). Any pb come back to me. thanks
When I import your file I get 5 images:
They’re all on the black layer, but they are all present. Are they supposed to be transparent? These are in the file as 8 bit images.
Edit: I can see from the file that they are supposed to have transparency, and we’re not handling that yet. Looking into it now.
Ok, I’ve figured out how the alpha channels are stored and added support for them for version 1.8.
Thanks a lot for your help. Isn’t it possible to have the alpha channel support with the 1.7, as it’s not officially out?
It’s too significant a change to inject into a build so close to being released. It would not get enough testing for me to be comfortable doing that.
