Welding text into a shape

I am trying to attach the word to the shape and lose the intersecting lines but I am struggling to do it. Can anyone offer me some help please.

Hover over most everything and hit ‘F1’ for help. Redirecting...

You will see on that page of our documentation to the following video showing how these features work and when to use them.

Hi Rick
I have watched that video but I am still not able to do what I want it to do.
I have pressed the F1 key but nothing happens, I am using a Mac if that makes a difference.
I will have another try tomorrow.
Thank you for the reply

I am on a Mac as well. Post the file and I can take a look.

You have the inside paw shape ‘Locked’, which might be causing you confusion. You also need to group the text object shapes, then you can select both and use the Boolean tools.

I have got it to this stage but I can’t get any further than this. I am stuck.

Only the first bootlean button is highlighted and ends up like this.

Start over and do this…

Select the inside paw shape and ‘Unlock’

Then select the text outline shapes and click the ‘Boolean Union’ to create a contiguous path for the outside text shape.

Now select all text object shapes and ‘Group’ them.

Finally, select the inside paw shape, then the group of text, and then hit the ‘Boolean Difference’ button.

Try this workflow and let me know how you get on.

Thanks Rick but still not working for me. Its late for me so not concertrating properly. I’ll try tomorrow after work.
Thanks

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same issue!!
