What a Linux let down

I have only just started with LightBurn, I paid my dues a while ago, the 23rd of last month. A couple of hours ago I upgraded to the latest version 1.6.04 to be told that as from version 1.7 support for Linux users was to cease. I understand that Linux is not widely used but is increasing and that there are many flavours but why can’t one or two be supported. I use Linux because I do not like Windows nor MacOS so where do I go from here? I feel let down disappointed and cross. Can anything be done to change minds?
When is version 1.7 due for release, so I can plan ahead. I’m a 78 year old hobbyist and at the moment I’m just wondering why I bothered to buy a laser engraver

In the same boat - just invested, not a windows fan at all and I plan to never go back if I can help it! By the way kudos for being a long term hobbyist!!

Linux update support will continue thru 1.7 and cease at 1.8.

After that your license is perpetual and will continue to work forever so you are not loosing access to the software, but any potential new features after 1.8.

I understand that I’ll still be able to use Lightburn and at my age I think that I wont need a plethora of updates but it’s clients who prefer to use Linux and have businesses who are going to suffer. It’s basically, if you don’t follow the crowd, you’re out. It’s happening all too frequently these days, restrictions of choice.
