What is Frame Slop?

On my Thunder Laser Nova 24. I’m testing the steps per rotation by burning a box .5” x 10.61 on tape on the tumbler. If I do a trace, the rotary runs fine, but when I try to ‘run,’ I get an error on the Ruita control that says

"Frame Slop Work paused
Continue press Enter
Cancel press ESC”

When I press Enter, the rotary will not turn, and just the ends of the box are lasered on the tumbler.

I have reset everything, including a default reset on the Ruita controller. What the HELL is the “Frame Slop?”

I do appreciate help.

Frame slop is a poor chinese translation meaning your project will be out of bounds. If you look at the preview window with the “Show traversal moves” turned on it will show where you exceed the work area.

On a rotary, you need to see where it thinks it is on the Y axis and where you have your origin set. Not sure what the configuration for the rotary is on your Thunder but on my Omtech I generally set my origin to bottom right, which is the top of the tumbler and it spins toward the front. I need to make sure the Y axis position is close to the limit of my machine, 500 in my case. That gives me the 300+ mm of rotation needed for the tumbler. If I have the Y axis below 300 it will give a slop error.

Hope this helps.
