What is the function of this red light on the laser head?

I recently purchased a new laser and there are two red lights either side of the laser head and to be honest I have no idea what they are for?

Naturally I would think it was to show where the laser beam would be but it don’t look right?

Looks like intended for cross hair. I would read the manual on calibrating them.

I’d additionally check to see if it’s intended as a focus convergence indicator.
