I have been looking to find what speed and power do I need to etch and cut my acrylic sheet?
The frequency of diode lasers is the wrong range for cutting acrylic, except for very dark colours that will absorb the energy.
Black can be cut with a diode, but it’s more of a melt than an ablation you would get with a CO2 laser.
As to settings - 100% and slow it down until you get it cutting.
I have cut 2mm black acrylic with a 7W laser, but it was slow and didn’t give a nice edge.
