Something happened to my machine (commarker 20w galvo). Suddenly today, my machine output is skewed- meaning that if I were to draw a perfect circle in LB, what outputs is an egg shaped sphere, not round. I made no changes to any settings. What could cause this? Is this a Lense calibration issue or a field calibration issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @elysne
Circles turning into ovals usually means one galvo axis scale has changed — not the lens. Check Edit → Device Settings → Calibrate Galvo and compare the X/Y scale values. If one’s reset, reload your field calibration file or re-calibrate. A square test cut will confirm if it’s just an X/Y stretch or a rotation/skew issue. Docs here:
Ok, this exposed another issue, I’m afraid its fatal and is a laser head defect/issue. When attempting the calibration suggested, I discovered that the test pattern is not even fully displaying.
I am able to fiddle with the setting to make the sphere more round, but am unable to fully calibrate as the whole bottom of the test pattern doesn’t print.
Here are my setting also.
Did you get some kind of configuration file from the manufacturer?
On mine, it was called markcfg7, don’t know what Commarker names them. That should have all of your configuration data for the original lens with it.
You need to import it when you setup the device.
