Ok, i am a CAD guy who works in his home office and pushes designes to shop laptop. I just updated both pcs to lightburn 1.1.01.
Pushed a new design over to shop pc and it says cannot find fonts. What did i miss here?
Hmmm. I hear you, makes sense… obviously.
However… I have never installed any fonts at all on either machines. Now, the office has several CAD programs and graphic design software on it that the garage pc does not have. Is it possible that Lightburn found those other fonts and has incorporated them?
Some applications will come bundled with fonts that are installed concurrent to application installation. Those are likely the ones that are not on the garage computer.
I apologize. I was not 100% clear and you have pointed out how i confused you. The design was 100% created in Lightburn and sent as a Lightburn file. That’s why I was confused about the fonts were missing.
Ok, here’s another question, but related, can i have the office laptop do a “save as” that will send the fonts as well? Or just export the design as an illustration or dxf or svg file?
The SVG works, fonts are fine. All scalable.
Just convert all font shapes to a path. This can be brought over to the other computer without fuss. You will lose the ability to treat the objects as text for edits or whatnot but an easy fix.
Correct. I simply dumped all fonts from office onto garage laptop, BOOM, worked perfect. Thanks all.
