What would cause these lines, seems to happen every 2 inches

Many things cause image artifacts, so more information will help diagnose what’s going on.

  • Is the picture rotated 90°?
  • Did the machine ever work properly?
  • What are the image settings?
  • Perhaps a moiré pattern from double processing?
  • Are the linear slides clean?
  • Is something snagging as the laser head moves?

Thanks for your reply.
-Yes the photo is rotated.
-These lines were happening when I purchased the laser and it was brought to the attention of the supplier and they were working on finding an answer as well.
-Had the image set to canvas with Stucki, but this happened on Jarvis as well.
It happens on every image no matter the resolution or dpi. These lines show up in all engravings, wood with text, etc. So I figure it is something to do with the machine and not the image.
-Slides are clean. Brand new machine.
-Nothing snagging. No jumping around or hesitating. No power surges.

That, unfortunately, does not mean it will works correctly, as we’ve seen many examples to the contrary.

Opinion: If it has never worked properly and misbehaves as you describe, I’d say you have a good basis for a warranty return.

Troubleshooting a manufacturing problem is well beyond what anyone should expect a customer to do.
