What would this be from?

So this message pops up and my laser wont do anything.
Its been running fine all morning, this is what I get when I try to run a new file.
I’ve shut down lightburn, my laser, and restarted my laptop.
Same message.

EDIT,
So I just disconnected the laser from my laptop and opened a previous file and Lightburn says that its ready when Its not even connected.
ready

Is COM7 the expected port for your laser? Is it possible that shifted?

Else, is it possible that some other program is holding the port?

I have nothing else connected.

Even then it may be worth confirming that the COM port correlates to the laser. Check in Windows Device Manager. Check that the laser is both present and showing ready for use.

Do you have any programs running that potentially can claim a serial port?

I really don’t know what I’m supposed to see here.
This is with the laser plugged in and Lightburn running.
Edit.
I have nothing else connected.
EDIT, EDIT.
I do have a wireless mouse plugged in to one of the ports.

Interesting that you have a couple of “Unknown devices”. I assume you’re not familiar with what those are.

Can you expand the “Ports (COM & LPT)” node? Look for COM7 there and check the properties. Make sure that’s the one for your laser. Examine any other ports identified there.

Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you sooner. I had a doctors appointment.
Everything comes back as working properly.
I also noticed the “unknown device”.
Can I simply delete them?

This happened after I opened another instance of lightburn as the laser was running and was preparing another picture for burning.

Is that the only available port? If so, try selecting com11 in lightburn.

WOW,that worked.
I also responded to another post of mine by mistake.
Ill try to delete it.
I’m getting confused now.

Still, Should I simply delete the “unknown devices” ?

It probably won’t be that straightforward. What’s happening is that windows is detecting a device but does not have the appropriate driver for the hardware. Ideally you’d identify the device and then find a driver for it.

If it’s not causing you any grief then I’d suggest just leaving as is.

Anyway glad you’re back in business.

Thank you…
