What's the best font for logos and dependable results?

I am trying to design a logo for my leather work. I am presently using Bookman Old Style font. Here’s how it looks in Lightburn.

My latest test with this logo on some 65 lb card stock shows a more delicate design than I want (not bold enough). Also, the bottoms of the large letters seem to show a separation that is not showing in Lightburn.

I am using a Ray5 -10 watt diode laser, at 10% power for large letters, 15% for smaller letters, at 600mm speed.

Are there particular font families that lend themselves best to logo designs? And that will produce results dependably the same as displayed in Lightburn? We really need to know what we are designing will translate to real-world output. Thx

Preview window is best to show you what to expect.

Still think you are having some mechaical problems.

As long as your speed and power and lines per inch settings are set correctly you should have good results with many fonts.

I have found that using “bold” can often improve font engraving.

The size of the text also makes a big difference. Sometimes producing very small text requires another pass with your laser.

I do notice that your font looks different how you have shown in your engraving from what you showed from your screenshot. Are the bottoms of your letters supposed to be disconnected like shown?

The differences are due to the mechanical problems we’re discussing in the parallel thread:

Until the machine operates correctly, nothing will come out looking like it should.
