As the title said, what’s the key point when you want to get your first 3d printer? Speed or others?
What you want to do with it ?
Does this have something to do with lasers?
Nowadays I’d say reliability.
Nothing is more annoying than getting every other time a failed print, since the printer has again a bad day.
That means the printing quality matters, how about the printing speed?
Quality, ease of use, print quality and then maybe speed. I would rather have to slow down and get a great print rather than speed up and spend a fortune on parts to be able to get it done a little quicker.
I modded my Ender 5 a lot but normal printing I wont go over 80mms and vase mode 120mms at most.
Not primarily the quality, some stringing and ringing is not as bad as problems with the first layer, clocked nozzles, missed steps and other problems that makes it a lottery if the print succeed.
Reliable good enough is way better (in my eyes) than 50% of the times really good.
And of course, the printer is always to slow, but to determine if you really want the new challenges that comes with fast printer (usually also smaller build volume) or multi material or larger build volumes I’d recommend a “normal” but reliable printer (e.g. a prusa) for a beginner.
