When asked to work from start laser fires and just sits in the one place

Bingo:

All of the accelerations are too low by about a factor of ten, including the individual XY axis values, so the machine will gradually gain momentum instead of zip along. This will definitely improve performance on longer vectors.

My machine runs at 1500 mm/s², so tack another zero on all the acceleration settings (except Z/U) to get 2000 mm/s² and see if that improves things. The E-Stop accelerations can be absurdly higher.

Other settings:

  • Limit Trigger = False unless the machine has switches at both ends of each axis
  • PWM Rising Edge Valid = False unless the stepper drivers are wired unlike essentially all others
  • Max travel values do not match the nominal machine size. They must match the actual axis travel lengths.
  • Laser 1 Maximum Power seems unusually low. Is the laser power supply mismatched with the tube?
  • Water Protect Enable is False. If the machine has a flow sensor, wire it to the controller and enable it.
  • Enable air assist outout is False. If the machine has air assist, that switch should be True.
  • Enable door open protect is False. If anyone in the room owns functional eyeballs, the machine should have a lid sensor and that switch should be True.

You acceleration speeds are very low. My stock China Blue were about 6000mm/s^2 for the Y axes and 8000mm/s^2 for the X axes.

Don’t know where the 5.02mm/s speed came from but I’ve cut material at nearly that speed. It’s also limited to minimum power as your speeds are less than the start speed.

The Ruida will limit the output power to 60%, that’s what set.

Might want to try and read from the controller in additional settings.

Good luck

Thanks Guys, I think i found the solution, a parameter reset including the suggestions above on speeds, plus uninstalling and reinstalling lightburn. Then i found another issue ( no connection through the ethernet cable only usb) which worked. I’m going to try and trouble shoot tomorrow evening on the ethernet problem( nothing like starting a new hobby to keep the brain oiled and ticking over with problem solving)

The reset could have changed your IP if you had changed it.

Glad it’s up.

Have fun

Don’t think so as i checked that too but i’ll know in a while when i try again
