When attempting to print text to my xtool laser, I always have to flip text vertically. why?

I assume I have setting incorrect, but can’t seem to figure it out.

Any help / direction greatly appreciated.

Most likely you have machine Origin set incorrectly. Go to Edit->Device Settings and make sure your origin is set to top-left. If not, change it.

When your home machine, and go to Move panel → Get position
Do you get X0 Y0
or you get X0 Y400? (or similar)

Home location is not necessarily the same the origin.

It should be ok, although admittedly I am not expert on Xtool

What you have incorrect for sure is the width and height of the machine.

I will let someone that actually KNOWS Xtool give their feedback

Do fix your working size it does matter

I am inclined to say try Origin Front Left, It “should” fix the problem but i wouldnt know explain why. so i rather allow someone that knows explain

It definitely should be top-left for D1 or D1 Pro.

Can you provide the following:

  1. full screenshot of LightBurn with your design loaded
  2. photo of resulting burn

Also, is there a reason why your working size in Device Settings is so small?

I am new to this and trying to print something on a small block. Anyhow, thank you device settings updated.

I think what’s happening is that your work area is too small and you are working in negative coordinates.

First, push the “In” field in the Numeric Edits toolbar on LightBurn. Once pressed it should switch to “mm”.

Then go to Edit->Device Settings. Change working size to width of 400 and height to 430 mm. Then Ok.

You can switch mm back to in if you like.

Place the design in the middle of the workspace. Then retest the burn.

Where are you getting the values for working size?

working size from xtool… I went back and tried same thing from xtool software and do not get the same issue.

What machine do you have and have you expanded it?
