When designing a file in Lightburn I often need to remove a short line where it extends past an adjoining line. Quite often when I use the scissors and highlight the line to cut, it will extend the line rather than cut it. It does not only extend to the next closest line but well beyond other lines to the edge of my work area. Is there something I dont underststand when it does this??
To be able to see what the problem is and to be able to reproduce the error, it will be necessary to have a small example. Can you make a file with the problem and upload it here?
There have been small problems with the scissors but in the last LB versions I have not experienced them yet.
I get this happening quite often, just insert a Node so you create a point where both lines you want to keep can join to..such as where they intersect.
Zooooom in to the max and place the nodes to cover each other and the scissors will cut to that point, rather than elsewhere.
Hilight first line.
Place Curser Arrow at desired join point > Press the letter i (insert node) on keyboard to create Node.
Press/Hold Shift and Hilight second line.this keeps all nodes viewable.
Hover curser Arrow at desired join point or very close.
Bring/move both nodes together.
Scissors the section to be deleted.
OK, I will try setting nodes. This does not explain why the short line I want to cut off expands across other lines to the edge of my work area.
Just a guess! But in my case I don’t think the line had joined itself to any other visible or non visible point (set to output, but not set to show). So I think perhaps the program calculates the most reasonable point to connect to…by its own method or default.
