Hi,
I have the following result when engraving:
The design has no “shadows”
The laser has closed loop stepper and the axis is driven via a timing belt.
I don’t think there is any backlash.
What other cause could it have?

Hard to see detailed scan lines from the image posted. What does a simple 100mm x 100mm square with a larger interval look like? Anything like this, possibly? Scanning Offset Adjustment - LightBurn Software Documentation
Hi Rick,
thanks for the information, I’ll look into it very carefully and get back to you.
At first glance, this looks very promising.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for the hint, it was indeed the scanning offset.
I have determined a few values and entered, now the result is much better.
I would like to know if the values are very high for my machine (or the power supply)?
Maybe I need a new power supply?
Here are my values:
{
“ScanOffsets”: [
{
“LineShift”: 0.25,
“Speed”: 100,
“StartAdjust”: 0
},
{
“LineShift”: 0.4399999976158142,
“Speed”: 200,
“StartAdjust”: 0
},
{
“LineShift”: 0.49000000953674316,
“Speed”: 300,
“StartAdjust”: 0
},
{
“LineShift”: 0.6100000143051147,
“Speed”: 400,
“StartAdjust”: 0
},
{
“LineShift”: 0.800000011920929,
“Speed”: 500,
“StartAdjust”: 0
}
]
}
Does that seem high to you? The axis has 900 mm and closed loop stepper.
kr,
Olivier
