I have a 64 bit machine so which one to install…Thanks old man memory…
Second from the bottom.
There must be a better description?
Because it’s not possible to purchase a 32 bit windows machine any more, so “.exe” seemed sufficient as the default.
Makes sense.
Ta very much I thought that was the right one , but it pay’s to make sure…
You’re not wrong. But, I still have a few machines from the 80s laying around that really should be paying rent… Apple 3, TI 99/4A, maybe an 8086…
I second that…
My Mits Altair has an 8080, upgraded the 1025 byte memory up to 4k bytes. I can connect to terminal software on Ubuntu.
I’d be nice to have Lightburn run on that hardware… might have to have the binary, so I can manually load it byte by byte…
Sometimes, you just have to move on and just reminisce of thing gone by… Like having to enter the machine language by flipping bit switches…
I never said they couldn’t be found, but you can’t purchase a new one.
Lol
I still have my Atari workstations from the mid-90’s. ST’s and the TT030 with a Catamaran board.
Sometimes we’d have to reset the operating system by doing the “Atari Drop”. What’s that you ask? Well, since the operating system was stored in a chipset, if the machine didn’t want to boot up, you would literally lift the box up off the surface by about an inch and drop it onto the desk to reseat the chips. Switch the power on and you’re back in business.
Fun times back then.
…good old day, I tried it with my 2014 macbook pro - it didn’t work
The old Motorola 68000 processor and its socket had issues with staying together. If I’d thought about it back then, I’d used some Purple Loctite to secure it. Ha!
