Some of my bitmaps end up with a faint Square behind them when engraved. I assume the software is assigning a value for the laser to fire instead of not firing where I have a white background. Is there a consistent way that I can prevent that from happening?
Save as a PNG with a transparent background
Great, Thanks for the help.
I get the same darn thing when I try to engrave a image ???
I just downloaded my image and do not know how to convert to PNG.
If the image content is strictly black/white with no shading, use “Threshold” as the image mode instead of dithering, and that will guarantee no shading on the background as well.
Thank you. I will try that next time.
It’s also quite possible that the “white” background isn’t actually pure white. If that’s the case, the dithering will apply to the background too, to get the output shade of the original.
