Why can't I change the Frequency on my OMTech laser running JPZ via iOS

My setup:
OMTech 60 W MOPA fiber laser with JCZ controller
Macbook Air running Sequoia 15.1
LightBurn 1.7.03

Lightburn will allow me to run a test grid with a range of Frequency settings, but when I try to manually adjust the Frequency in the Cuts/Layers panel, I can’t.

The arrow keys do nothing, and I can’t manually overwrite the default setting of 200 kHz.

I can adjust every other setting in the Cuts/Layers panel. It’s only the Frequency that won’t budge. The field isn’t grayed out. I can’t see that it’s locked anywhere. I’m completely at a loss. What am I missing?

What are your minimum and maximum frequency configured as on the laser setting page?

Min 1 kHz
Max 200 kHz

(Note all the ports are red on the screenshot because it’s not hooked up at the moment.)

UPDATE:

I discovered that when I change the max frequency in the device settings panel, it changes the frequency to match in the Cut/Layers panel by default, but it still doesn’t allow me to manually adjust the frequency in the Cut/Layers panel itself. So this is a decent workaround if I am only using one frequency setting for any particular job, but I should be able to adjust it manually in the Cut/Layers panel, right? And assign different frequencies to different layers?

I have the 60W JPT M7 MOPA Cloudray fiber machine also and my setting can be varied from 1kHz to 4mHz.

Did you import the configuration file when you created the device?

Thank you, Jack! That was exactly the right question to ask.

My OMTECH laser comes with EZCAD, but as I learned after I bought it (who knew?), EZCAD will not run on iOS (as far as I know, at least not so far). It didn’t occur to me that I could import the .cfg file from EZCAD, so I just did the best I could to configure the laser manually. Clearly, I missed a few parameters!

For the benefit of any Mac users who run into this same problem, if you’re using an OMTECH laser and the thumb drive that came with it is the same as mine, you’ll find the proper file (I think) under Software>plug>markfg7. At least, that’s the file I installed, and it resolved my issue.

Also, for any other newbs like me who haven’t set up one of these machines before*, if you fell into the same error I did, you’ll need to click the “Devices” button in the Laser panel, then click the “Import” button to load that configuration file.

Thanks again, Jack!
