I didnt get this error message when my laser beam become weak. I just get it now as I try to check my laser…
I will change my laser head if i need but I need to solve the second issue as well

Few things that need to be checked
a) try reset firmware to defaults
$RST=* in console press enter
b) take a screenshot of your EDIT → Device settings?
c) confirm your device is GRBL and not GRBL LPC or M3

d) do a visual inspection of your optics on the laser, for dirt or damage

I did the reset! Thank you very much!
Looks like it solved my second problem!
My laser is still weak.
I cleaned my laser and it is clean and no scratch on it.
My laser is a 10w diode laser and it is on GRBL.
Here is my device settings…

what settings are you using, maybe show the layers tab?

Usually I use 6-8000 speed and 30-40 power. fill or line but anyway I use my laser like before and I made over 100 engravings…

Last time i tried my laser on metal zippo to my friend with 100% power for few minutes… after that become weak. but it shouldnt be the problem imo…I use my laser since christmas what do you think about it?

10W power test.lbrn (141.7 KB)
Try running this test file on maybe a bit of plywood

@jkwilborn has reported destroying a set of lenses while trying to lase stainless with a CO2 laser. It seems conceivable the same could happen to a diode.

Have you checked your lenses?

After that zippo I cleaned the lense and I didnt see any strange things…what should I see if that is the case you mentioned?

I tried thanks…
there is not even a dot on plywood…
There is something big problem with my laser imo…

In the case of reflection damage (which is quite uncommon)
You wouldnt see anyhthing
Basicly the core itself would be damaged by absoption of the laser light reflected or the sensor inside the diode would report wrongly to the laser driver and output power would be - therefore - degraded

Both end up working the same, bad power output.
But is unusual if i am honest

I would get in touch with Longer, as it seems is a deeper diagnostic they got to do to help you out
Assuming too you are under warranty

ok thank you

i made a short video … how can i send it to you?

upload to youtube and post link is the simpler way

I had this once I cleaned the lense and all was fine again.

My laser has a test button which manually apples 100% power to the laser for a test. Does your engraver have this ?
