Why is my fire mode is burning/cutting the number is set to .0%

My fire mode is burning the material at the lowest number % and leaving a trace of line when burning graphics i am using Ortur master 2

What is the value of S Value Max in Edit->Device Settings? If it’s not 1000 change it to 1000.

If it’s already 1000, are you only having this issue with Fire button or do you also get visible traversal moves during a job?

Its already 1000 and yes i having a visible burn. its like its burning the whole time.

Chances are that the laser module is failing but it could also be a controller issue.

Do you have access to a voltmeter? You could check PWM voltage from the controller to validate if proper voltages are being sent to the laser module.

There’s also a chance that this could be a configuration issue.

Can you create a simple rectangle design, set to 100% power, then go to File->Save gcode, save with .txt extension, then upload here?

What were you commanding from LightBurn during this test?

Un plug the power and connected to usb

You’re saying that the controller is always showing 3V from the PWM pin no matter what? Was this with controller newly power cycled? If so, issue is with controller.

My power is constant

Make a simple rectangle and save gcode as described earlier. Upload file here for review.

$31 is set to 0?

Ok, where is this?

TEST.TXT (563 Bytes)

Gcode looks fine.

You can review $31 in Edit->Machine settings or by issuing $$ command in Console. It should be set to 0 or possibly 1.

Is this the one?

Capture

That’s it and looks correct.

If you’re getting a constant 3V on the PWM pin then your controller is almost certainly bad.

You could try reflashing the firmware to make sure it’s not a corrupted firmware. That’s free and an easy validation.

The only different from default is the $33 default 500 mine is 250 $122 Default is 2500 mine is 1500 . i dont know if thats the case

Is there a reason why you changed the PWM frequency? I don’t see that causing an issue but you could try changing back to default.

In any case, I’d still consider a reflash to remove any concern about a corrupt firmware but the setting change is a quick test.

Hello, I have a similar problem if my secondary ventilation is too low. Is it a burn or soot dragged by the laser nozzle?
