Why when I start a job does my Z axys goes down and come back up?

When I start the job, whereever I am, My Z axys gows down and then goes up to the top and continu. I think it’s going to my Z0. I am lucky it did not touch anything.

How can I stop it from going down and just start the job.

I found out that it’s the Safe Clearence Height that is tested when the job start.

THIS IS DANGEROUS, If I am over something, it will hit it before I start the job.

What can I do to make sure it is not tested when the job start???

How come no MillMage employee answer me?

Nobody knows how to remove this strange behavior? Everybody accept it?

  1. 8 hours is not enough time to discover the posting, isolate the problem, assign a priority, determine a solution, and formulate an answer that makes sense to us non-programmers.
  2. 90%+ of the solutions come from Users, not Lightburn staff. That is the magic of the Forum, letting the developers build new features and take care of major SNAFU’s.
  3. This issue has already been brought up, in other postings, myself included. Have you researched any of those postings?

I agree 100%. You should never push the Start button until you are sure where the tool is going to go. I ALWAYS “cut air” with no tool in the spindle to check out a new or modified program. You tell it where to go, and it does exactly that. “Go where I think it should” only works in the movies.

  1. I posted this yesterday, So it’s more than 24H and not 8h.
  2. If an issue come up, and no other users find answers, The Lightburn staff should at least says something maybe says that they will come back with something.
  3. Yes I did my research and I have found nothing, Maybe it’s the search engine the problem?
  4. About cutting in the air, re-read my post. First thing the Spindle does it’s to go down to Z8, the number I put in the config for security. If I am over a holder, it will hit it. That’s what I want to NOT do.

Your 8mm safe height is NOT a ‘safe’ height if it is below the surface of your hold down’s etc?

Set your safe height to a few mm above the surface of any of your hold down’s etc, I have my safe height set to 30mm to clear hold down’s with no issues.

This may assist you.
