Wifi connection via USB adapter

Hello All,
I would like to know if anyone has done this before.
I use a Neje Master 2 to engrave a few text lines and a QR code on a plastic board, about 5x7". In summer I do it outdoor, but now it’s too cold.
Is there a way to connect the machine with a Bt/Wifi to USB adapter?
In this case, I would place the machine just outside my workspace.
I run Lightburn on Linux.
Thanks for reading and commenting!

You can’t just run a USB cable through the window?

That was my first option, but I have windows with metal frames that lock tight, and if I leave the window open I’ll freeze…

There are multiple similar ways to achieve this. You could exchange the mainboard (ok, might be a little bit too much work).
You can also buy a device like the TS-1 from Sculpfun (SCULPFUN TS1 Laser Engraver Touch Screen, Offline Engraving & WiFi – Sculpfun), which adds WiFi-connectivity to any grbl laser (it’s just like a remote ESP32 controller for a laser). Here are some more details:

I also collected some more methods here:

Please tell me this is a figure of speech and you are not going to actually run the laser in a freezing environment.

Well, the thermometer now reads 5C, is that a problem? sorry if it is a silly question… I’m far from being an expert on this matter.

Best is a minimum temperature around 15°C. Below that temperature, you can get issues with humidity and breaking lenses because of huge temperature differences. But in most cases, it should be fine. But you have been warned now

That can affect the lubricants in the machine, making them substantially thicker. You may also be approaching the limit of what the electronics can handle.

Sounds like you need to consider adding an enclosure and exhaust fan. Even a cardboard box and dryer vent duct is better than nothing.

Thanks Mike and Melvin,
maybe mine wasn’t a good idea after all…

maybe this could do the job?
