Wobbly lines on new setup

After being shelved for 1yr, I finally have this thing rebuilt with a new makerbase board and running again. From the attached image, I clearly have some tweaking and could use some advice. First off, I’ve already walked through the scanning offset adjustment doc and I do have some “ghosting” lines, but they’re

pretty small. Small enough I don’t know how to measure the difference but clearly could be addressed. I’m not sure if this is something I need to tweak out with software (ie scanning offset), or something I need to tweak in GRBL, or tweak the hardware. Curious to me, the left and right sides don’t seem equally offset on a given line. The left seems more distorted than the right Thoughts are appreciated.

You very likely have something loose in your machine. This guide should help. Pay special attention to the set screws on the motor pulley.

Once you get the machine tightened up as @thelmuth suggests, then you will have to go back and redo this. Before making any software corrections, a machine user should make sure the mechanical parts are tight or adjusted properly.
