I have read a lot about this topic here on the forum, but somehow the solutions in all the threads did not really work. I recently observed the lines of my laser cutter have become “wobbly” when engraving or cutting round shapes. I did a couple of tests (see pictures attached). When moving in a straight line, this does not seem to be an issue, but when both axis move the lines become wobbly, but only in certain parts.
I tried letters, numbers and circles at speeds from 50mm/s to 300mm/s, the problem seems even worse at low speeds regarding the circles. As the lines seem to be off in the same area of the circles, I don’t think it is a random wobble or movement/binding of any part.
So far I have:
- tightend and re-aligned all mirrors
- checked all screws and parts on the gantry, motors, mirror mounts and laser head
- turned air assist off (no change)
- checked belt tension
- checked alingment of gantry
My setup:
- custom built gantry with RECI 75W CO2 laser
- RuiDa RDC6445G Controller
- Lightburn on Windows 10 laptop
What am I missing, or what could be the cause of this specific wobble-pattern?
