Won't connect after hard limit alarm

I use a Fox Alien 32 bit controller with the Fox Alien 20w laser. I attempted to frame my project and forgot to adjust the z-axis, ramming the laser into the wood. This caused a “hard limit alarm” on the console tab. The laser would not home or do anything after this. I attempted to unplug it and restart the computer. Lightburn now just says waiting to connect on the console tab. I even went through the device setup again with no luck. I did the debug log and got the following:

Don’t know exactly how the controller tells that it’s a ‘hard limit alarm’. That would help us determine what could have broken.

It is suspicious that the controller will not even talk to the host machine. I don’t know that controller (a link would be great…) so I’m not sure how it operates. Most of the grbl controllers and my Ruida forget most of everything when they are shut down, so I’d expect the same type of operation from your controller.

I would expect that, at least, you should be able to connect to the controller.

Does it have some kind of configuration that could have gotten messed up? Some have SD cards with change at boot options.

Some of this may be how long it was ‘crashed’ into the material. Could that have cause you a power issue or hardware issue.

:smiley_cat:

After trying two other usb ports, the 3rd worked. The other still works since i swapped it and the mouse. No idea what it’s deal was
