Wood grain, burn direction, and DPI?

I’ve had pretty good success with LB for the last year mostly engraving vector (fill or fill/line) artwork and text in hard woods. My goto settings for my 7w JTech laser are 2000 mm/min at about 70-80% power depending on type of wood. I also have found that 200 dpi with a 45 degree cut angle gives pretty great results.

My questions, are there better approaches? the 45 degrees for me seems to overcome the wood grain issues where lines may burn differently or if there is a glue line in a panel. I see a lot of people using much higher DPI and I just don’t get it. I don’t see any advantage with my eye. I’m also trying to balance speed with this.
