Hi,
I’ve been viewing quite a few videos on Youtube. On quite a few I am seeing that when users are adding a shape, then allocate it to a particular coloured tab. then the whole shape changes to that colour.
I don’t get that on my screen, I just get the outline in dotted lines.
Is there a setting somewhere to make it go solid?

The outline in dotted lines is an indication that the object is selected. Clicking in an empty area or hitting esc will make the lines solid. For the viewing aspect, you have four choices.
Click on the menu bar, Window, then check the view style entries for the four selections. The Coarse options are best for slow computers or intricate designs. Wireframe/Filled options should be obvious.

Thanks for the answer. It’s now working well and looks a lot better.
I’d been concentrating in the Edit/‘settings’ to look for it (it just seemed more logical that it would have been there). Didn’t think to check where it is.
