I have a COMGROW Z1 with an upgraded 10w laser. my board fryed after atempting to update to GRBL 1.1, so i got an upgrade off of amazon (RATMMOTOR 1310 red board) I flashed the newest version of GRBL, and was able to connect with laser GRBL and lightburn. oddly enough, my Y axis limit works fine, but the X axis will not register. I am using the OEM NC 2 wire switches. I changed the config file to have it home y first then X so I could see what each was doing. Y homes exactly like its supposed to, but it moves 5 steps and stops with an error code (alarm 8 in lightburn) after moving to the X axis home sequence. i thought it might be a wiring issue (it usually is with these things) but when i jumpered the board to indicate a closed circuit (staying next to the power switch) it still did exactly the same thing. does this indicate a bad board? thank you for your time!
Hi, thanks for the reply. im already at 5mm for the $27 value. that seem excessively high to have an issue. should i keep going up? it doesn’t even get to the first check, it errors a few seconds into the test, so would the switch pull off effect anything? thanks!
I did not spot this detail previously. Can you tell me what “5 steps” means?
I presume your machine moves one axis until it homes, then moves the other. My machine, for any axis, is rapid to the switch, pulls off slow, reverses back on the switch slow, then pulls off the switch slowly, then stops. Please describe what yours does from Home start to alarm, including both axis.
I am trying to determine exactly when the alarm occurs.
